I am unable to de-install 120 days evaluation version of
SQL Server from my desktop running Windows XP Home
edition. While attempting to un-install, I get the
following message:
" unInstallShield has detected that 'C:\MSSQL7
\BINN\sqlmangr.exe' is in use. Please close the
application using this file and unInstallShield again."
Please advise.SQLMANGR.exe is the manager program in the task tray at the bottom of your
screen that allows you to stop and start SQL processes. Right click on the
icon that looks like a little server with a red or green arrow and close
it... or you can kill the sqlmangr.exe process from Task Manager...
